We moved here from NY into our new home in Tarpon Springs, FL. We had a full inspection of the house before the sale. We have a hill in our backyard, a small wall and a pool. Whenever it would rain, the backyard would flood and almost come in through the sliding doors. Turns out that we had to put in a French drain. The expense of this was out of control. They had to dig up my entire backyard. How did they miss this on inspection?? I was hoping for compensation for this problem as we were never told about this and coming from New York, we had no idea something like this could happen. Please let me know who actually handles these issues, if I am not posting on the right site. Thank you for your anticipated help.
