The police have made it clear that they "will not chase motorcycles & or off road vehicles". Most officers know that proactive policing is very unpopular these days.

It’s the policy of the PD not to chase motorcycles due to the inherent danger. MSP, Holyoke and Springfield will not either. Not sure of any PD that will. Chasing someone is not proactive it’s actually reactive.

I can tell you I have seen them staging in the areas that the cluster together which is hard to do given the call volume. But they do when they can. First step is filling the vacancies. I can also tell you the officers on the street are just as frustrated as I take the time to check in with them.

Police officers In the entire state of Connecticut CANNOT pursue / chase any vehicles, Cars / Trucks / go carts, doesn't matter what it is. If they attempt a stop and the vehicle takes off they have to stop the pursuit. Just imagine the crap they deal with.

I feel for them. The officers I speak with are sincerely frustrated having their hand tied. I hear it in their voices. Hopefully we’ll get staffed so we can have extra patrols dedicated to it. It’s the only way to make a change.
