That could potentially help as well. I also think it's confusing because it's one of the only intersections in the immediate area that is NOT a four-way stop, so once stopped on the east/west bound street, you assume the north/south bound traffic stops as well. So maybe even an extra sign that warns you to watch for oncoming traffic. May seem redundant with the stop sign in place, but there are a lot of folks that I have spoken to that have had issues at that intersection.

I have also nearly been a party to several accidents in these neighborhood intersections and I think the best ways of preventing these avoidable accidents are more stops, but also reducing/updating the on-street parking zones. One of the biggest problems with this intersection and several others nearby (e.g., Chavis/Martin) is that the street parking zones foster unsafe intersections for vehicles pulling onto the busier street. Legally parked cars obstruct drivers' views so badly that drivers much pull a full car's length into the intersection before seeing if traffic is actually coming by (at 25-35+ mph).

I've referred this to our Public Works Department. I will update this issue when I have heard back from them. Thanks for reporting.
