Description
(I tried posting a comment on the other complaint about this issue, but my comment was blocked.)
The area around G Mart, especially around the corner on Peck, has always been known for drugs and prostitution, but it's getting worse. I drive by this corner every day around 7:20 a.m. to bring my son to school, and every morning we see open drug transactions, prostitution, and junkies stumbling around. It's a disgusting, depressing sight first thing in the morning, and yet I've never seen any police presence here. What gives?

This location is on the radar and we are using all regulatory and enforcement powers to modify behaviors. The location gets more resources than many other in efforts to address. You recognized the recent closure which was done through building and state labor violations. They have since come into compliance. PD continues to monitor and have issued numerous infractions and summons to individuals in the vicinity and will continue to do so.

Thank you. The activity seems to have moved across the street by the community garden...
P.S. To the poster who suggested contacting my alder -- my soon-to-be-ex-alder is Ernie Santiago, who's (in)famous for never, ever responding to his constituents.
