Description

At the entrance to assembly row shopping district, there have been a high number of occurrences to/from the light from the round-about where speeding traffic has flown through the pedestrian walkway (with no concern to pedestrians) at speeds clearly above speed limit. Many cars do not even slow to check this area (cars coming into the roundabout have a slight turn which even makes this view partially obstructed), posing a high risk to pedestrians and residents.

One repeated occasions, including tonight, my family was nearly hit by a driver flying out from the district (appeared under the influence as well). If we would not have sprinted out of the walkway we would have been hit. Action needs to be taken to implement speeding countermeasures (increased police presence, speed traps, or speed bumps) to mitigate for the safety of the pedestrian traffic in the area.

While the entrance of the district is the worst area, multiple other locations throughout the district also see speeding traffic through the high pedestrian community. Consideration should be taken to implement countermeasures throughout the district.
