Having the police sitting in our area is a plus! However, when you can not see oncoming traffic till they are blowing the horn and screaming at you is another. Highland Ave. is a drag strip and our kids are the obstacles.

We think the city should put in an island at the intersection of Highland and Beverly. The stop sign on Beverly is set too far back from Highland. I really don't understand how the hedges are an obstacle. Another solution would be to install speed bumps every 50 feet and that would surely slow down the bad drivers and we would need the police patrol.

An island wouldn't be a bad idea but make sure the Stop sign is at the corner and not up street. As it is, when you come down Beverly you are on an angle, just so you can see around the hedges, down Highland. Heavens forbid, if you slow down the on coming car flying up.

Seen someone trimming down the hedges the other day. Wonder if they will move the stop sign up 30ft from its current location.

I went to the city meeting and it was determined that two stop signs should be installed at the intersection at Beverly Dr. They should be installed on Highland Ave similar to the intersection at Harris Dr. The police chief said there was no money in the budget so we'll see what happens.
The people with the hedges trimmed them at great expense and it did not improve anything at all.

Again today I tried turn off of beverly dr and almost was hit. You can not see past the hedges and it also doesnt help that they are flying up the road! I even came out half way out to see if anyone was coming and next thing I know a car is right there. The city must put a stop sign there ! I avoid going that route as much as possible.

Also they do need another stop sign at Prindle and Webter dr, noticed people fly up that way too. i can forsee a accident waiting to happen.

The hedges are not the problem. They have been there for 50 years , the owners cut them way down. The stop sign needs to move and 2 more need to be added on Highland. I went to the police meeting & they said great idea but they don't have money for that. Ridiculous!!! I know the owners and they tried. They are not the problem it's the city not cooperating to make that safe like it is at Highland & Bellvue. Shame on the city!!

Move the stop sign or create an island. Please fix this intersection before an accident occurs. Anyone coming down Beverly, will get t-boned or rear ended by oncoming traffic, coming up from Highland Ave. I can't tell you how many times I have to look several times, gas it and go, only to look in my rear view mirror and see a car almost in my back seat because we can not judge this intersection. Some claim the hedges are not the problem. Fact of the matter is, we can not see down Highland where the current stop sign is. They are obstructing the view of the whole intersection. New signs popping up everywhere in town. Lets hope it won't take a serious accident to open the eyes of those responsible for correcting this dangerous problem.
