Description
Marked Crosswalks needed for pedestrians to safely cross Fernside Blvd. For example - we live at Fernside and Fairview. Many times - we have to park on the far side of the street. There are no crosswalks at this intersection and cars routinely speed on Fernside - often ignoring any pedestrians. The closest crosswalk is .3 miles in one direction and .2 in the other - going to one of these crosswalks to get across the street would require walking to one of these crosswalks and back on the other side - so half a mile just to safely get to our parked car directly across the street. Additionally - during the morning and evening rush - wait times to safely cross have been several minutes or more. Speeding problems on Fernside are well documented. We need a crosswalk at this intersection to alert cars to slow down and stop for pedestrians.
