I understand the difficult winter we had but it cannot excuse the lack of prioritizing the needed maintenance of our current city streets. Potholes have damaged my vehicle, (alignment ,tie rods and shocks) and as of June 4th there is still major problems .
At the bottom of Ramsey St. Hill. the turn lane to enter 35 is full of some serious pothole,
At the light on the bottom northwest corner is a small crater.
The intersection of Ramsey and Smith next to the Mobil gas station is still a major problem. It needs repaved.
Ramsey Hill is in need of repair.
On Ohio St. hill going up from Plato needs repair.
Lexington also has issues from Energy Park Rd. to Summit.
Rice St. is a mess.
I could go on but just want you to know from my perspective the unsatisfactory conditions of St. Paul streets in general.
It seems it would be better to fix the existing conditions rather than the start up of new highway construction.
So in additions to paying city, state and federal taxes I am also absorbing extensive repair cost on my car.
Please make it a top priority to repair existing problems.
One last question,Why was Victoria from Summit to Grand repaved and why wasn't Ramsey St. , Lexington, Rice and Smith from George to Dodd Road ?

I was hoping that at the grass-root level we would be heard. Unfortunately we haven't been, the potholes & streets that were listed in my complaint have not been taken care of as of this date.
The streets of St. Paul are in great need of being repaired. I noticed the new pedestrian crosswalks just recently added on Western, have taken precedent over the the potholes. Most of the streets I travel during the week need resurfacing. Whose running the show? Fix what we already have then deal with new construction. It's June 10th. Front St, Rice St. Ramsey Hill, Summit Ave, Como, South Robert, Smith Ave.,Lexington Ave. to name a few need repaving not pothole repair.
Is there any responsibility on the city's behalf to reimburse car owners that have incurred damage from these Holes in the roads. My shocks and tie-rods have been ruined. It is dangerous not to repair the roads.

Thank you for your comment. If you have any questions or concerns specifically pertaining to potholes, or street resurfacing, you can call Street Maintenance directly at: 651-266-9700.
Please understand that there are multiple divisions within Public Works that are responsible for different areas. For example, you mentioned in your comment pedestrian crosswalks. These are taken care of by the Traffic Operations division, who have nothing to do with potholes or street resurfacing.
Because of this, it is quite possible you are seeing multiple divisions taking care of varying public works related issues throughout St. Paul. I hope this helps you better understand why you may be seeing other things being worked on.
