Description
Design and construct a ‘Signature Tower of Huntsville,’ one that has offices and residential condos. This would break the height limit on the skyline and promote the idea that Huntsville is sustainable for going up rather than out. Both the Mobile, AL RSA Battle House Tower and the Austin, Texas Austonian Towers are great examples of such projects.

Great Idea!

This will be a great idea, supposing a suitable site would be available.
There are massive limestone cave formations under parts of downtown that can pose long-term stability hazards due to risk of sinkholes causing building collapse. This is why the courthouse is significantly smaller on one side. However, as evidenced by AmSouth, the Russel Erskine, and the old Times Building, there are clearly sites that can handle bigger buildings. Let's do it!

A good hotel/condo building might be great too

Huntsville skyline is embarrassing. I agree with this signature tower-- but the city needs a few 35-50 story buildings to let everyone know that it is a big city now.

our City and the chamber of commerce need to it a priority to get an aerospce large tenant, along with a major bank

I agree. I think a major bank HQ or lure a company in that has to do with Aerospace or Defense and get them downtown instead of in Research Park.

The tower could have stores, restaurants, and a hotel on the lower levels with business offices in the middle and residential units flanking the top floors.
