The posts are well off the pavement. It is the bushes on the opposite side of the street that encroach as much as 3' over the pavement that narrows the street. They should be cut back to the owners property line.

As the owner of the bushes I was approached by several neighbors regarding the fence posts and the hazard they created. When they were installed I further trimmed the buses to make more room, address concerns and compensate for the fence posts. I also had a lot survey done to make sure the buses did not violate any city easements.

While the posts do not particularly bother me I can comment on general conditions of the area:

Neighbors who us this street have to use the far side (close to the buses) to avoid the construction trucks and equipment regularly parked all day on the street. Subsequently the damage done to the road by the earth moving equipment has caused pop holes to form and is effecting the driving conditions in the area.

Again I’m not overly concerned about the nature of the events in this area as they cnter around a side stree/alley. I would however, prefer to not cut down the bushes that have been there for decades to compensate for a home owner who feels it’s his right to park construction equipment in the street.

I apologize for the construction equipment. The project is finished and they are gone. Also, I want to thank you for cutting back the bushes. I understand your wishing to preserve them. I actually watched them being planted and have enjoyed them for years. Your trimming has opened the width of the street so no one should have a complaint. If my posts aren't really an issue for you and your bushes aren't an issue for me it would seem that there is no longer an issue. Sorry the whole matter became a problem for anyone.

The posts are located on the homeowner's property well inside the pavement. The bushes opposite the posts have been neatly trimmed way back and there is plenty of room for car and pedestrian passage on Shadwell.
