Move to the country ?? Are you flippin serious?? There are dogs roaming all over with no owner in sight .These should be fair game as well .

I completely agree. My neighbour has been letting his dog run loose in our neighbourhood for years, no matter how many times people call the bylaw officers. It is now in the habit of jumping their fence, and their response is to stand at the back gate and scream its name. (The fence is nowhere near tall enough to contain a dog of that size) I've tried to deal with this through the proper channels, but these people have NO RESPECT for anyone else. Someone "stole" their dog last year, and it was found in Big River being walked on a LEASH by some nice lady. Unfortunately they got their dog back and the problems have resumed. I can't help but hope someone "steals" their dog again.....

No, dogs in the country are not 'fair game'. We have our own RM bylaws.

I used to go for a walk every night after dinner until I got chased by a big dog on 4th ave and 25st west. Someone passing by in a car tried to run it over before it came to bite me, which didn't work.
Now I don't walk anymore. Irresponsible owners ruin it for everyone!!!!

If you move to the country ,,you still have the same probs,,,There are ALOT of dumped dogs out here,,,roaming and end up wild,,,What bylaw does the RM have??? Never heard of one,,,,,All I know is you hear gun shots going now and than and think was it a dog/coyote/wolf/bear

I think cats need to also be on leashes. Is there a bylaw for that?? So sick of my flower beds getting used as a litter box, and having to deal with the smell and seedlings being dug out.

I have a dog who has been properly trained. She does come out in our front yard with us and at times is not on a leash. We are responsible adults who watch our dog. I agree that when you walk your dog on the sidewalk or in a park it must be on a leash at ALL TIMES. Even when on the rotory trail. Our yard backs onto it and I see every day people walking dogs off leash. I know of people in my neighborhood who walk their dogs off leash on the trail and have a beware of dog sign on their fence. They know the dog is a danger to others but yet she lets it loose. I recomemd calling bylaw when you have a problem, that is what we have done in the past and will continue to do. The laws do apply to everyone no matter who you are or where you work.
