Description
I am an avid biker and bike lane supporter, and I am very confused by this new lane marking on Sherman st. Could someone from DPW please explain how one would safely navigate on a bike from heading east within these markings?
I also want to note that there is plenty of space here to add protective bollards on the westbound bike lane.
thank you.

What will the new markings be? How should a cyclist safely travel east through this intersection and onto the eastbound lane?

"[flexposts] aren't necessary"
I strongly disagree. Just watch the corner where it turns in to North Ave to see how many drivers go outside the general purpose lane, cutting the corner so they don't have to slow down, without there being some "encouragement" to follow the law. Even a single flexpost at the apex of the curve does an amazing, almost magical job of getting drivers to operate within a single lane. It's like they had the ability all along 🤔
P.s., they are easily removed for winter, it's not pouring concrete.
