FairHavener, I think you're talking about 17; 15 is the one next to it (beige with white trim) and it definitely has a roof. However the squatter that was living there (aka MAB) broke keys off in every door knob before he was kicked out (amongst other things), so a property manager is going to need to come in and replace all the knobs and board up the window. He made a bit of a mess, unfortunately.

Oh, ok! Wow, so this is the nicely remodeled home with the addition? I did notice a window broken on the side of the house and wondered what may have happened since I thought the home was occupied.

Yes, both addresses are in a rough state. I live at 13 Lewis and those two properties are making it difficult to feel safe for my family.

Well 15 was partially remodeled but never finished (and illegally!) so it's probably a bit of a challenge for the bank right now. Hopefully LCI will step up and do all the securing work and send a bill to CHFA!

That would be amazing. I just want someone to take some responsibility for the property. CHFA will not return my calls.

I talked to someone at CHFA this morning who said they're aware of the problem and are sending people out to 1. check for squatters and 2. secure the property. It sounded like this was a direct response to the SeeClickFix complaint.

I spoke with a representative from CHFA and she informed me that wheels are turning and that the issue is on the "high priority" list and that it should be dealt with today. So fingers crossed.

I didn't see the need to keep this open per our meeting a few weeks back. At this point I am not sure what else can be done here to rectify the situation.

Agree; the property has been secured, the dumped items out front are gone and neighbors are keeping watch. Such an improvement!

Property re-inspected today. It is secure and properly maintained.
