The Department of Building Inspection inspected this property on 6/23/2014 and noted that all violations have been abated. This issue will now be closed. Thank you for using the Up2Code app.
The broken window and graffiti were abated. However the building remains blighted and a health hazard as it is covered in cracked and peeling lead pain, another cracked window including on brickwork around the windows, and the exterior is in bad condition outside of the paint issue. The decorative trim along the top of the building in crumbling. A chunk could fall off and hit someone below. The roof also has rusted equipment on it. This building fits the definition of blighted building and is an eyesore for the community, and a potential hazard for residents and passers by. I can't imagine the conditions the poor people that live upstairs are subject too. This property needs to be inspected, and the lead paint, at minimum, must be abated. This building is also a historical resource and it is shame it is falling apart on itself. Finally due to the 8 year vacancy there is no outside lighting on building and it attracts crime and is a public safety issue.
The Department of Building Inspection re-inspected the property on 7-8-2014 and did not observe any violations. This issue will now be closed. For further information, please contact the Department of Building Inspection at 415-558-6088.
