Most of 2nd Avenue West is in disrepair. I agree with the black fence going up 2nd Avenue West. Its rusty in parts, broken in some and the weeds have taken over what plants there once was in there. But the bigger problem is 2nd Avenue in general, coming into PA from north heading south, the concrete is missing in chucks along the bridge, on the right hand lanes on both sides. Then the intersections at 2nd Ave W and 15th Street and also 2nd Ave W and 28th Street West. They have that pavement that is a square at the intersections. When you pull up to a red light at those intersections, and then proceed to go on a green light, it is like you are going over an entire section of speed bumps. As the main road that tourists drive on, it sure is an eyesore and a shame that the city could do so such more to make it look nice, but choose to do nothing.

Why worry about the median. Fix (REPAVE) 2nd ave. Goood for tourisim as a visitor removes parts from their car/truck driving down that road.

Have you brought the matter up with the councillor for the area?

The Field House is in Ward 1. Second Avenue is in Ward 8. Your best bet would be to contact the councillors for those respective areas and voice your concerns. An email to your own councillor wouldn't hurt, either, I think. If enough people complain, they'll have no choice but to start paying attention to the voters.

The fence is there to stop pedestrians from crossing, not to impress you...hence the no flowers. you SHOULD be paying attention to where you're driving.

Where are our city crews??? 2nd Ave west Is dirty, there are no traffic lines no flowers, fence needs to be painted more and more pieces of gaurd rails are missing from the bridge that never get replaced garbage everywhere from south side all the way to the north side, the grass needs to be cut north side by overpasses same holes in the road for years now. How do tourists know where to drive? That is just a few examples

for sure...this should be fixed....what would it cost? couple thousand dollars for paint and plants? The hill is the most recognized area of the city...money should be spent on keeping it look good....as goes for the rest of the city....can we not put something out to make the city look better without it getting wrecked?

there should be no reason why the city looks like crap!! there should be NO garbage anywhere in the city, fences painted / repaired, flowers planted, etc....we are, after all, "the city of jails." our city councillors should be contacting these institutions (including the youth homes) and getting them (inmates) to give back to the community by doing some of this stuff to improve the city. the farm is closed (@ Riverbend) but there still is a greenhouse. get these guys, planting and tending flowers to use around the city. this is a win - win situation for everyone. the city gets beautified, the inmates are doing something productive and keeping them busy and the cost is much...MUCH cheaper than getting the city workers to do it. they can tend to more pressing matters, like fixing the potholes, etc. COME ON MAYOR ...do something about this!!!

The city doesn't care about 2nd Avenue. They want everybody to detour past Cornerstone on their way to the lakes. LOL

And PA66, you are correct in saying the inmates could/should be giving back to this community.

i had recently visited Swift Current. had driven around and i noticed that there was hardly any debris or garbage. i was impressed with the layout (except one way streets can be confusing) and really enjoyed walking around. if there was any fencing or painting needed to be done, i am sure i would have noticed. i do agree the city needs to keep up with maintaining the beauty of our city on all streets.

ya all they have to do is hold traffic on both inside lanes forcing a bottle neck in traffic so our prince albert panow go'ers can complain. so if they do nothing then they save $ for pot holes o yea it well take away workers from more pressing matters. but in the end there is STILL going to be someone complaining y not just save some cash right now and read the complaints
