Description
I've noticed a number of parents at Rising Star School parking on the Lincoln Park side of the street, and crossing to the school in the middle of the block to get to school with their kids.
(e.g. rather than walking half a block to the cross-walks at Central or Santa Clara).
High Street is *really* busy in this spot, and also very narrow with cars parked on both sides of the street. I have seen a number of near-misses where kids step out into the middle of the street without looking.
I'm not sure what to suggest here, other than reminders for cars to slow down, drivers to pay extra-careful attention for kids, and for parents to walk to the crosswalks. Ideally the speed limit would be significantly reduced on this block during school drop-off hours, e.g. 08:30am.
It feels like a matter of time until there's a bad accident here where a car will hit a family.
