Description

The signs on the west side of Henry Bacon Drive (in front of the concession stand) clearly state that there is no parking anytime for vehicles and NO stopping or standing for buses during rush hour. However, EVERY DAY during rush hour there are multiple buses that idle/park there waiting to disgorge/engulf their tourists. This takes away one of two lanes to access Memorial Bridge, a key route out of DC and backs traffic up on Constitution Ave, NW westbound. It is inentirely illegal and neither US Park Police nor MPD is ever there to give tickets. And the bus drivers don't care because they don't pay the tickets and work for out-of-state companies. I think the police should hang out there and give tickets daily until the tour bus companies get the message.
