On W Lake Sammamish Pkwy SE, there is a speed sign that tells you your speed with the speed limit sign east of the lake. After that sign, people gradually speed up and are going quite fast once they pass the south most point of the lake. Would it be possible to place a speed sign trailer further west on W Lake Sammamish to remind drivers of the speed limit (which I believe is 30 mph)?

Thanks for bringing this concern to our attention. We are aware of this issue, and will add NW Sammamish Road to the list of requested radar speed signs.
Additionally, the City is preparing designs to improve this corridor, from the State Park Entrance to 193rd Place, including bike and pedestrian facilities. We will evaluate speeds along West Lake Sammamish during the design process to see if additional treatments are warranted.

Hello, we installed speed counters along West Lake Sammamish Parkway, to see if a traffic calming device could be used along this street. We use the industry standard of comparing the 85th percentile speed to the speed limit, which is 30mph. The 85th percentile speed was 39.6 mph, which is almost 10 mph faster than the posted speed limit. We will install a temporary speed sign along the roadway, and evaluate what treatments we can install for the long term. Additionally, we will pass on the concern to the police to increase patrols.
