The American Flag is displayed in front of the original city hall and Taunton Green improperly. They are left up over night without adequate light shown on them. The guidelines are laid out in Untied States Code Title 4 Chapter 1 as follows:
?6. Time and occasions for display
It is the universal custom to display the flag only from sunrise to sunset on buildings and on stationary flagstaffs in the open. However, when a patriotic effect is desired, the flag may be displayed twenty-four hours a day if properly illuminated during the hours of darkness.

As a municipality that is tied deeply to the birth of this Nation, I feel it is necessary we address this problem.
