Farmington River Blockage at Railroad Bridge
  • 129-197 Pleasant St Town of Windsor, CT, 06095, USA - Windsor
The blockage of the Farmington is complete under the railroad bridge, except when the water is very high.
For boaters , this is very dangerous. A boat could easily get sideways and likely overturn in the current, trapping the boaters, tubers, or other users under water. I once had to rescue a canoeist in this situation, and it wasn't fun.
In addition, the log jam must be putting considerable shear stress on the bridge that is supported by compressive force.
The log jam has become a potential liability issue, either from a recreational issue or a structural failure
