Pedestrian Safety Study RequestAcknowledgedLiberty Ave & Newark Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal SquareIt is very dangerous to cross at Newark and Liberty. Cars are always parked up against the crosswalks and double parking. There is literally ALWAYS a truck parked inside the crosswalk. This forces pedestrians into the travel lane to see if there is on coming traffic and making it difficult for drivers to see pedestrians

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestAcknowledgedSummit Ave At Newark Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square
When crossing Newark Ave from the Library to Red Ribbon bake shop, the pedestrian walk signal lights up to cross but traffic at the stop light (cars in the north-facing lane on Summit Ave) get the green light and TURN LEFT onto Newark directly into pedestrians who are in the crosswalk. This has got to be a mistake.
It is tremendously unsafe. After waiting for 5 light cycles at this intersection, can pedestrians get a few seconds to cross without cars flying at us? Please??

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestAcknowledged17th St & Coles St Jersey City, NJ, 07310, USA - DowntownHello. This is not my first and probably will not be my last complaint lobbied about this intersection. This intersection is INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS for pedestrians, especially with kids and pets, crossing. And where do kids and pets like to go? Across the street into Coles Park. A dog was hit and killed in this area last week. I was nearly struck with my pet twice in the last week. My husband was nearly struck and hit with our dog today because someone sped up towards the flashing lights. I wanted a woman nearly get hit this morning and the driver rolled down his window and cursed at her. THE FLASHING LIGHTS ARE NOT ENOUGH. PLEASE STUDY AND FIX THIS INTERSECTION. I do not want to go outside just assuming it's only a matter of time until me and my dog are hit and injured or worse.

North St & Nelson Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07307, USA - The Heights
North St & Nelson Ave (Western Slope)
Is it possible if the traffic department can adopt "Leading Pedestrian Interval" due to school zone area?A "Leading Pedestrian Interval", which allows pedestrians a head start of a few seconds to cross without any cars moving at all (all signals turn red at the same time).

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestAcknowledged68-80 Sip Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal SquareThere is a signalized intersection on Sip Avenue at the access road to the Journal Square Bus Station. The crosswalk at the western side of the intersection across Sip Avenue is missing. In addition, there is a temporary ramp up to the curb made of asphalt, but it is frequently blocked by parked vehicles. This is one of the main areas of pedestrian access to the bus terminal, and is busy with pedestrian traffic. As a crosswalk is missing and pedestrians frequently need to enter the street around parked cars, it feels very unsafe crossing here, like an accident waiting to happen. At a minimum, the crosswalk should be repainted, and the curb access should be restricted so that cars do not park blocking the crosswalk and ramp.

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestAcknowledgedMallory Ave & Pollock Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07305, USA - West Side
They are speeding every night. And they also speed late at night waking us up from our sleep.
Second, the sport auto body shop on Mallory Ave and Pollock ave, they parkt their customer cars on the bicycle lane, and sometimes they even double parking on Mallory Ave. It blocks my sight when I am driving, especially when I make a turn. they park their customer cars everywhere on the street, giving the residents a hard time to find a parking at all times.
I think we need some signs such as quiet zone sign and permit parking for the area around Mallory Ave. the city must have come up with any law or rule about the auto shop that parks their customer cars on street all day and even overnight. that is affecting the residents' lives. or at least out permit parking sign around here so we can have parking when we get home from work or on our day off.
and please they are speeding everyday no matter it's day or night.

Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study RequestsAcknowledgedEge Ave & Mallory Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07304, USA - West SideThe intersection of Mallory and Ege needs better care for both pedestrians and cars coming out of ege onto mallory. Poor visibility from cars exiting ege and turning either left or right threatens pedestrian, cyclist and drivers safety. Corner of Ege and Mallory is visually blocked most of the day and the evening. Many requests have been made but City Traffic & Engineering folks must not be doing their studies from 8am-10am 12-3pm or 4-6pm because thats when traffic is at its worst. Pls see a solution put in place for this. TY

Pedestrian Safety Study RequestAcknowledged373 Monmouth St Jersey City 07302, United States - Downtown
The Monmouth Ave redesign added three parking spots instead of adding a loading zone. Now delivery trucks just double park blocking the right lane. This causes congestion and tons of noise from honking as cars make an unexpected lane merge from 2 down to 1.
Make those spots a loading zone.
