Thank you for posting your concern. While we all get through the COVID-19 pandemic we’ve changed our traffic signals to “Pedestrian Recall”, a walk mode that coincides with the start of green for the through movement parallel to the pedestrian movement and called once per cycle.
Pedestrians are not required to use push-buttons to activate this. This is to remove the need for touching the buttons and to limit the spread of COVID-19.
The walk signals are not set to be permanently on as described, rather in each cycle they will trigger once automatically. If there are any intersections that are actually not signaling green please generate a new post with specific details such as the intersection.
