I had reported Herzogs, along with Benjamin Moore for selling a supposed no odor, no voc paint to a person with asthma and chemical sensitivity. At first they wouldn't help but after posting here they came through. This is a great site. The reason I posted on this site was to warn people about this paint so that they don't buy this product if someone in their family has a breathing disease. I also think that when a company sells something to our community and it harms them, they should stand behind remediating the situation. It took the pressure of this site to help them do that so the post was then removed..but I just wanted to thank everyone who offered support and suggestions and to let people know that if you advocate for what's right, you sometimes get results.
Live healthy everyone!!!!

Excuse me Mr.Coppertop but Herzogs pushed the person into buying a product that was dangerous for that person's health and told them it was safe when it wasn't. They then refused to take any responsibility for their actions. For people who suffer from this medical condition..it can be life threatening. Did you ever hear of people dying from asthma attacks?
Herzogs should have remedied the situation immediately and I instead they told this person to go fly a kite. So, they should have been exposed and...the paint should not be sold as no odor if it has a strong odor that doesn't go away. Sometimes you have to "strong arm" to get things remediated. That is what this site is all about and not for someone like you to criticize people for reporting things that need fixing. Do you work for Herzogs by any chance? Hmmmm.
It was also really nice of this person who was chemically injured by this bad paint to tell everyone that it was on the way to being resolved and to thank the people involved. I never see that from anyone...it's called gratitude and we need more of it. Not someone criticising others for not only fighting for their life but also warning others about a bad product.
It's unfortunate that you can't relate to how serious a problem this is and how inappropriate Herzog' response was until they were exposed. Maybe next time they will be more sensitive and responsible.
If someone went into a local food place to get a peanut free cake and it turned out that the place gave them something with peanuts in it and the person had to be rushed to the hospital would you possibly be able to understand that? Especially if they were continuing to sell the product as something without peanuts and could cause someone's death by their deception?

Not to disparage anonymity: we may keep our names off because we do not wish to be personally judged, and we do not wish to inject our personage into the discussion, for better or for worse. It's not about us, it's about getting the job done. And for that, thanks to the very many.
This was an interesting shift, a consumer complaint... it got some attention, and Herzog's did the right thing, to their credit and of course, it is expected of them: they are quite a part of Kingston and have served the community well for decades. To my mind, it's pretty hard to hurt Herzog's: like for me, they have decades of good products, service, and personell and if things mess up, hey, it happens, but it's an accident... I'd be certain of that.
Of course, we need to be judicious in our initial complaints, we have to put out information and take direction so the problem can be solved, and we must avoid being harsh and mean to each other: we are imperfect, we ask forgiveness for that and extend our forgiveness to others who may be imperfect.
Peace. Tis the Season.
