The City of South Milwaukee is moving ahead with a streetscaping project to enhance the look and feel of Milwaukee Avenue. The work will transform our Main Street, with new sidewalks, street lighting, planters, bike racks, trees, traffic signals, benches, and other decorative features. There will also be a limited amount of street repair, and the addition of bicycle lanes to create a spur of the Oak Leaf Trail through downtown.

    Addressing some concerns and complaints in regard to this address. I have been observing strange behavior and activity in this location. All hours of the day and night. People coming and going. I spoke with someone who goes there regularly, and they confirmed that the men at this location often bring women back after bar close. They usually sit in there and do drugs and smoke and drink. I don't think this is a proper environment for this type of activity as there are families that frequently walk up and down Milwaukee Avenue. This is a residential area with young children.

    I’ve been having problems with my heat since November, they keep telling me everything is fine and they gave me a space heater to “to solve the problem” when heat is supposed to be included in my rent. Now starting Thursday Feb 8th, 2024 my apartment has no hot water. Contacted landlord Friday and said the problem is actively being taken care of, but now today is Monday and i have no hot water and no heat. I have a toddler and this is not ok

    The bar next door, American Legion, does not respect the privacy of the people who live nearby. Our bedroom windows are directly next to this door which isn’t a main exit or entrance. People prop the door open which makes it louder. But also people smoke cigarettes, sometimes leave the hurts on our window sills or ground of our property and not the bars driveway. We even experience ADULTS and CHILDREN looking through our windows and even talking to us through our windows. There should be something that keeps people being able to invade our privacy without any consequences. Noise isn’t a big issue because it’s understandable but people can smoke at the front entrance instead of littering and stuffing our windows with their litter and smoke as well as peeking through our windows and coming and sitting on our porch. Children live here with asthma and also get scared at the thought of someone looking at them.

    THERE IS A TREE IN ALLEY BETWEEN 1328 AND 1330 THAT ALL CABLE LINES RUN THROUGH. WHEN IT IS WINDY CABLE GOES CRAZY SO I CALLEDD SPECTRUM AND ASKED THEM IF THAT TREE IS WHIPING THOSE LINES AROUND WILL THAT INTERFERE WITH CABLE AND INTERNET LINES AND THEY SAID YES. IT COSTS ENOUGH FOR THESE SERVICES NOW ADAYS TO NOT BE ABLE USE BECAUSE OF SOMETHING THAT CAN BE EASILY TAKING CARE OF. BRANCHES BEED TO BE TRIMMED. WE HAVE MANY LARGE TRUCKS THAT COME DOWN ALLEY AND WE ALSO OWN A SUPCAB TUNDRA WITH 6 FOOT BED WE LIVE RIGHT ACROSS FROM THAT TREE AND EVERYTIME WE PULL OUT THAT BRANCHES SCRATCH AGAINST OUR VEHICLE AND ALSO THE OTHER FULL SIZE TRUCKS THAT COME DOWN OUR ALLEY. PLEASE MAKE WHOEVERS PROPERTY TRIM THAT TREE THERE IS ALSO AN OLD WIRE PIECE OF FENCE NEXT TO THAT TREE AND I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS CONNECTED TO ANYTHING

    WAS TOLD TESTERDAY THAT BECAUSE OUR RECYCLING BIN WAS NOT PICKED UP YESTERDAY THAT THEY WOULD PICK UP TODAY ITIS 4:55PM AND CALLED GFL AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS A WORK ORDER FOR PICKUP TODAY THE CAN WAS LFT ALL NIGHT AND WAS CHECKED BY ME 2 X'S TO SEE IF PICKED UP WITH ALL THE HEALTH PROBLEMSS I HAVE AND MY SON CHECKED AT 3PM WHEN HE STOPPED OVER AND WHEN MY HUSBAND GOT HOME FROM WORK AT 4PM HE LOOKED AND STLL NOT PICKED UP! WHY DO WE PAY FOR A SERVICE THAT IS MISSED SO MANY TIMES LIKE I SAID I HAVE THE BIGGEST SLAB IN ALLEY 24FTX24FT HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY MISS THIS I THINK ITS TIME I CALLED AMERICAN WITH DISABILITIES SEEING AS SOUTH MILWAUKEE DON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!

    When is this going to stop. There have been numerous complaints regarding this over the last few months. Owner clearly needs another dumpster or trash needs to be picked up more frequently. This is disgusting and a bad representation of our neighborhood.
