951 N. Indian Creek Drive Clarkston, GA - Clarkston
Need assistance to get DeKalb County to repair fence & secure gate behind Clarkston Library on Indian Creek Drive. Vandals are coming through the gate & fence and entering the Clarkston Community Center….destroying vegetable gardens and other projects made by the local residents. This past week vandals destroyed a patch of carrots grown by some children!!
The Center locks all gate access to the field during the evenings, weekends & holidays, however, until this fence is secured, the problem will persist. The Clarkston Chief of Police highly recommends “razor wire” in this area to prevent future destruction of the fence.
If the department responsible for county property would like to meet with me to review and discuss, my email is sarawlins@bellsouth.net . Prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated before the gardeners begin planting in early March.
PS: once the fences are repaired, the community residents will place warning signs on the gate & fence to discourage entrance.

Ashford Dunwoody Rd@Mt Vernon Rd Dunwoody, Georgia - Perimeter Traffic Operations Program
People driving north on Ashford Dunwoody are continually turning left at the Mt. Vernon light in front of people trying to exit the Branches neighborhood. More recently they are becoming more aggressive with this illegal turn where three and four cars will turn left once the light turns, causing those driving straight out of the neighborhood to hit their brakes to avoid a collision with an illegal left turning vehicle that is not yielding to oncoming traffic. The Dunwoody police should monitor this intersection and issue tickets to decrease this behavior.

1587 New St Ne Atlanta, GA 30307, USA - Edgewood
New street is a narrow street that dead ends at fence. On the other side of the fence there is a cul-de-sac. New Street is in violation of the 2003 Fire Code section 503.2.5 because there is no way for a fire truck to turn around on the street. The city needs to use eminent domain to acquire the cul-de-sac.

Wrong-way Drain Grates - Dwy Village Pkwy Acknowledged1384 Dunwoody Village Pkwy Dunwoody, GA - Dunwoody
Drain grates are parallel to the direction of travel and will cause bicycles tires to get stuck and cause accidents. The drain grate runs along the majority of the curb cut. Request the drain grates be replaced with perpendicular grates or another design. I understand that the Parkway will be reconstructed, but that is not scheduled to begin until July 5, 2013 and be complete sometime in mid-2014. Between now & July 2013, perhaps some reasonably priced safety enhancements can be retrofitted. We now have a weekly organized bike ride coming in & out of that parking lot. Also, the monthly community bike ride will alternate from this location as well. With the community bike ride, there will be many younger children and less experienced riders, less aware of watching for these hazards.
Location: On the north side of Dunwoody Village Parkway, at the central curb cut entrance to El Azteca, Village Burger, Divine Events, Curves, etc.

Please complete Ashford Dunwoody Sidewalk Acknowledged3242-3252 Ashford Dunwoody Road Northeast Atlanta, GA - North Atlanta
The area between Stratfield Drive and Humility Lane needs the sidewalk completed and the debris removed from the roadway. This is the only section of roadway that has an incomplete sidewalk. Kids, families, and runners / walkers have to dodge traffic and debris to get from neighborhood to neighborhood.

3784 E Ponce De Leon Ave Clarkston, GA - Clarkston
The path on E Ponce de Leon from Milam Circle to I285 is extremely narrow. Naturally there is no sidewalk. For a year I have made numerous calls to 311 and Damen Johnson at Dekalb County Public Works without success. I am not requesting a sidewalk be installed, just grading to widen the dirt path to allow citizens a safe passage. By the way, I have confirmed that this road is the responsibility of DeKalb & not Georgia.

Pothole in New Bike Lane Acknowledged1457 Mt Vernon Rd Atlanta, GA - Dunwoody
In the new bike lane on the south side of Mt. Vernon (eastbound direction), there is a pothole a several inches deep and in width (appears as if the top layer of new asphalt has simply "broken away"). It is located approximately 200 - 400 feet west of the Ashford-Dunwoody intersection.
