Notified About

  • Ireland St College Station, TX 77840, USA - Texas A&M University

This is a 4-way intersection with the traffic entering from 3 directions, and a protected turn light for the left turn from East-bound University Dr. into Ireland St. (two turning lanes).
However, there is no indication for the
pedestrians crossing Ireland St. about the phase of the traffic light.
This results in a situation when the protected-left-turn light turns on (for relatively short time, compared to the number of cars in two turning lanes), while the pedestrians are crossing Ireland St., creating a safety hazard.
Often, the situation becomes even more dangerous, when the vehicle in the leftmost turning lane is tall, thus, limiting the visibility of the intersection and pedestrians for the car in the second turning lane.

Also, at the same intersection, some visitors coming out of the parking garage to Ireland street make an illegal left turn on a one-way Ireland St., and then come to that same intersection, not realizing that they are on one way street. Since there is no traffic light for them (and it is not needed), they just enter the intersection as they like, creating hazardous situations for the oncoming (University dr.) traffic. I've observed this on several separate occasions.

I propose that some sort of sign, indicating that it's a wrong direction (such as "Wrong Way" on divided highways) would be placed on Ireland St. right in front of the intersection - for the cars heading North on Ireland St. (for the drivers who didn't realize that they made an illegal turn).

  • Fire Risk Archived
Farm To Market Road 2154 College Station, TX - Texas A&M University

There is a lot of dead brush, dead grass, and dead trees on a strip of land parallel to Wellborn and between University Dr. and Old Main Dr. The fire hazard is mainly on the west side of the railroad tracks.

High grass and dead brush spills over into parking lot 64 and its access road on the university campus.

  • University Dr & Farm To Market Road 60 & Farm To Market 2154 College Station, TX 77840, USA - Texas A&M University
The grate spacing here is way to big. Grate can catch ankles, stray bike tires. It needs expanded metal mesh on top.
  • 118 222 University Dr College Station, TX 77840, USA - Texas A&M University
dangerous parking lot exit where lots of near-accidents and near-pedestrian hits have occured--needs a traffic light
  • 101-117 University Drive College Station, Texas - Texas A&M University
Underneath the overpass on University at Wellborn, there is a growing accumulation of rocks and gravel. Part of it is spillover from the work on the railroad tracks recently, but the gravel collects under the bridge and is in the gutters down to the storm drain on the westbound side of the road toward Agronomy. I'm concerned about the larger rocks getting into the street and being thrown by a vehicle backward into unsuspecting drivers.
  • Spence St College Station, TX - Texas A&M University

    (1) Vehicles turning left from Spence have no green arrow. The green light they have corresponds to the pedestrian walk light across University Dr. During the school day, it is nearly impossible to turn left without running a yellow-red light. It causes problems with the "late walkers" who dash across when the walk timer is up and you are unable to turn left without running remaining in the intersection when the signal changes to green in the opposite direction.

    (2) The traffic coming from the commercial lots (McDonald's, etc) follow no road markings in the exit driveway. There is enough room for three lanes of traffic (one incoming and two outgoing). The outgoing traffic is confused as to where they need to be and at times a vehicle turning left is on the right side of the lane and prevents other traffic from proceeding straight across to Spence or right onto University Dr. If the above situation occurs you can go through an entire light iteration with only one vehicle moving through the intersection.

  • Boyett/University Drive Intersection College Station, TX - Northgate District Association
Every time there is rain, the storm drain on the corner (east/gas station side of Boyett) does not drain properly. Even after the rain stops, water accumulates in the street and sometimes rises up onto the sidewalk. The water remains in the street hours after the rain stops

  • Pothole Archived
Lodge St & University Dr College Station, TX, 77840, USA - Texas A&M University
Due to a prior repaving in the cross walk, the asphalt has sunken and created two largely noticeable potholes in the roadway on the entrance to Lodge Street. If there’s anyway to get it filled as soon as possible the expediency would be much appreciated.
