Edgewood Park Block Watch

Who changes the lights on the WOOD poles in Edgewood park when the Park's Dept. says it is the city light bulb person's responsibility and he says the pole numbers don't exist and UI says call the city of New Haven and your Alderperson can't help either??? How many city officials does it take to change a light bulb?

Please be on the look out for 10 adult tricycles that were stolen from Coogan Pavilion 1/13 after thieves broke into two storage areas. These tricycles were used by Parks for senior programs. Please call NHPD if spotted. The theft has been called in to NHPD and Parks is aware and working to re-secure Coogan.

More trash cans need to be added to the Sprinkler Park. Me and a few others cleaned the Sprinkler area this morning of all its trash and I left after 12pm. When I returned at 4pm it was DISGUSTING all over again. Used diapers, cups, cans, paper, food containers, you name it, all over the place. Please add more cans.

Also, can we get a warning sign with implementation. Something to the affect of keeping it clean and if the community can't abide by this rule then the Sprinkler Park will be shut off for a few days? It is NOT the parks responsibility to keep it clean, its the communities. If they cant help keep it clean then shut it down. The Sprinkler Park is a luxury that we all love but what good is it if it's nasty to be there.

Please, as a community, lets fix this!

Edgewood Park has a humongous sundial with water spouts built into it. It's a great place for kids to cool off in the hot weather. Last year the City installed a button for kids to push when they want the water to turn on. The fountain stays on for a few minutes, and then they have to push the button again. Well, I think the button is broken because the water's been on constantly for at least a week. This is running up the City's water bill and wasting taxpayer money.

The tennis courts in Edgewood Park are Dirty and Hazardous. There is dirt, sand and twigs all over the back courts. It is a shame since these courts were just resurfaced last fall!!! How about cleaning this up?

The sundial fountain in Edgewood Park is supposed to turn on when a nearby button is pressed. It doesn't.

How about one plow pass down the Edgewood Park access road, particularly as East Rock park road was plowed to the top within a day of the big snowfall. And take the plow along the Edgewood Ave sidewalks another 100' to connect with Pendleton and the park road--kids walking in the street to school!
