The 15-MPH cautionary signs that were put up have done nothing to curb the speeders at the sharp corner on Pineview.

Could the city please consider one of the following:
1) Park a police car on the street to ticket speeders, several of us are happy to volunteer our driveways
2) Setup a permanent sign that flashes the violator's speed next to the recommended speed
3) Go back to having Pineview Drive as a dead-end where it meets Swift Drive (Note, this eliminates another issue reported presently on the site).

We have too many walkers on their way to Lake Johnson and too many students on their way to Athens Drive High School to compromise on safety. This road is too narrow. It was never meant for thru-traffic.

We have submitted this issue three times to the city. Please help us. As neighbors and parents we have met and decided that without resolution will consider submitting this issue to Diane Wilson, the WRAL Troubleshooter.

The property at 1321 Athens Dr. has a large pile of cinder blocks sitting in the front yard that have been there for weeks. The grass is also unkempt w/tall weeds. There is no current building permit listed on the city's website, so what's up with the pile of concrete blocks & when are they going to clean up their yard? Thank you

Athens Dive High school has two old dumpsters for recycling newspapers located near Athens Drive. The newspaper recycling program ended long time ago and it seems the school does not need them. Dumpsters are rusty and defaced and have being long used by a neighboring apartment complex and others as trash collectors. Large discarded items started to accumulate next to these dumpsters now. Dumpsters have a foul smell and started to attract rodents and raccoons at night. Yesterday after sunset there was a man with two small children dumpster-diving. Please remove the dumpsters or relocate them to some place less accessible to public before somebody gets hurt there. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Contractor for Swift Drive/Caplan culvert renovation project is routing dozens of heavy dump trucks daily down Pineview Drive. This is a very narrow section (18' total road width and no shoulders). The pavement is cracking and failing due to the truck traffic and the residents must pay for the damage because this street has no curb and gutters and is considered by the city to be substandard. The trucks are speeding, crowding the narrow road, and creating ruts on the shoulders. The trucks could easily be routed onto wider streets that the city maintains. This street is not designed to carry heavy truck traffic. Please direct the contractor to use other streets for project access and please provide police patrols to slow down the trucks.

There's a pretty big pothole in the bike path running next to avent ferry. The bbike path in general is pretty uneven but this pothole is definitely the worst part. Not safe for bikers commuting to NCSU. Thanks for your help!

It has been almost 2 weeks since the last time the garbage truck collected the garbage in our cul-de-sac. It seems that they are planning to change the dumpster, but meanwhile they have not collected the trash that has been accumulating for at least 10 days, attracting pests and becoming a risk for the residents health.

Tree limbs grow out into the sidewalk right of way, and debris covers the sidewalk from lack of leaf management.

Abandoned sofa left at curb for 2 weeks. This is rental property and many complaints have been registered on conditions at this house. Property owner is listed as Robert Spiro. He is the landlord and does not live at this house.

This traffic light includes a leading green for Eastbound Avent Ferry Road traffic to turn Left\North onto Pineview. This is silly. No one ever turns left there since Pineview is a sparsely populated residential street with substantially better access from Kaplan. And it seems that the leading green always takes 40 seconds whether any traffic in waiting to turn that way or not. Seems like an ideal spot for flashing yellow\red during off-pead hours or a flashing yellow left turn arrow for that Eastbound AFR traffic.

The GoTriangle Sign says this is stop 8591. Call me crazy but I think I recall this not only being posted before, but being closed at as fixed.

This is a blind curve where cars can park on either side of the road. It is near public school bus stops and there is no indication for vehicular traffic to slow down for pedestrians. Options may include signage for the turn, signage for slower mph around the curve, paint marks to indicate pedestrian crosswalk at the Kaplan /Burgess intersection.

There is an old leaning tree hanging over the road that is in danger of falling. The tree next to it that appeared just as old fell across the street last week. This is a danger to all drivers and pedestrians.
