Bakesale Betty used to be an asset to the neighborhood, but now it gives the taggers free rein, especially along the 51st Street side of the property as indicated in the photograph.

We have convened a new walking safety group in the Temescal neighborhood, the Temescrawlers. On our first nightly walk we discovered 4 street lights which were already out of service or actually went out of service while we were walking by. Here are the locations: the east side of Webster Street at Rich Street; Shafter Street at 42nd Street the NW corner; Shafter next to Emerson School between 45th Street and 48th Street; and the east side of Webster Street between 42nd and 43rd Streets. Early Light Electric/Superior Builders need to keep their property clean of this.

I am re-opening this. The city closed it previously for lack of an identifying number on the pole. THERE IS NO NUMBER. It is a green metal pole, not a telephone pole, on Webster at 40th, light oriented to Webster. Affixed to this pole are the street signs for Webster, and one for 40th street, and a traffic light, and a walk light. You can't miss it. THERE IS NO NUMBER on the pole. You can also recognize it by the two mounds of broken glass from 2 different car windows shattered in the two parking spaces just north of the broken streetlight......
