Hwy 287 is a major highway that should have longer lights that roads such as Isabelle Road or other cross streets. This is not the case and the backup on Hwy 287 at some of these lights is horrible. You can go through 4 rounds of lights before you get through the intersection

U.S.287 And Dillon Road Broomfield, Colorado - LafayetteToday I noticed that the eastbound and westbound traffic lights on Dillon Road at U.S. 287 are much shorter than usual. Only 8 - 10 cars can get through this intersection on each green light.
This morning as I traveled westbound on Dillon Road approaching U.S. 287, I noticed that cars were backed up past the railroad. This situation creates a hazard for cars coming in from Northwest Parkway as well as cars merging from Dillon Road, as there is limited visibility in this area.
This afternoon as I traveled eastbound on Dillon Road, I noticed that cars moved at stop-and-go speed from U.S. 287 all there way back to 96th Street. I saw a few cars making u-turns and others turning north in an attempt to get away from this traffic jam. It took me 15 minutes to get from 96th Street to U.S. 287 (!). I finally reached U.S. 287 at about 6:00 p.m. By that time, several cars moved along U.S. 287 at their green light. When the traffic light for eastbound Dillon Road finally turned green, only 8 - 10 cars made it through the intersection on that cycle, leaving dozens of others behind.
