  • 5111 Genoa St Oakland, CA 94608, USA - San Leandro

the parking sign for street cleaning was hit by a car and is currently laying on the ground near the curb on Genoa Street. please re-install, and could you pour a bigger concrete base? the sign has been hit repeatedly by cars, the past repairs have not had a large enough concrete base to withstand the frequent hits. It's a deadend street, but people don't realize that until they drive the block, and are forced to turn around...and in process they hit the No Parking sign. thank you.

please note: this is not san leandro. I submitted this request via the mobile app while near San Leandro, but clearly this address is in Oakland. I cannot figure out how to edit the location....?

  • 3001 55th Ave Oakland, CA - Maxwell Park
Tree branches are nearly completely obstructing the view of the School Crossing Sign posted on 55th Ave at the NE corner of Brann Street. For the safety of our children, please prune this tree so the sign is visible. The fines for moving violations in a school safety area are doubled for a reason. What good is this when drivers can't see the sign warning them they are entering a school zone? Please prune this tree so the heavy traffic from MacArthur Blvd turning West onto 55th is AWARE they are entering a school zone! Thank you!
  • 51st Street And Telegraph Ave Oakland, CA - Shafter
Vehicles heading East Bound on 51st Street, intending to turn left/North onto Telegraph Ave during the green arrow phase of the traffic light regularly advance into the intersection after the green arrow has turned red. Vehicles regularly block the "box" of the intersection, impeding the flow of West bound traffic on 51st Street. Worse, they block the cross-walk making it dangerous and difficult for pedestrians to cross Telegraph Avenue. Additionally, the white "safe to walk" symbol is not long enough with OUT the cars blocking the intersection. With vehicles regularly blocking the intersection, the "safe to walk" duration is insufficient. I can't RUN across Telegraph Ave before the red flashing don't walk symbol appears, and have even received dirty looks from OPD because I crossed on the don't walk red flash, simply because I had to wait til cars blocking the crosswalk moved through. Please address this - it's unsafe for pedestrians, and dangerous to drivers alike. It's been like this for years.
  • Camden Street At 55th Avenue Oakland CA, Oakland, CA - Frick
The intersection of Camden and 55th Avenue intersects MacArthur Blvd in a confusing and dangerous 6 lane intersection. In addition, a brand new elementary school opened adjacent to this intersection in August 2012, with a few hundred new people driving through this part of town who are likely unfamiliar with this unusual and confusing intersection. At the least , the streets here require re-striping, especially the double yellow lines on 55th. They're very worn and barely visible. Possibly this intersection could be re-configured or additional signage could be added to help explain the unusual flow of traffic to drivers. Particularly confusing is that although traffic heading East Bound from 55th Ave continuing onto MacArthur Blvd may be stopped at this traffic light, the traffic in the opposite direction does NOT also have a red light: Instead, traffic heading West Bound on MacArthur Blvd turning West onto 55th Ave have a green light. You just have to experience this intersection from South bound Camden Street, intending to turn left/East onto 55th Ave/soon-to-become East bound MacArthur Blvd to see what I mean. Please re-stripe the streets here in an effort to improve safety and properly demonstrate opposing traffic lanes, especially considering this is in an Elementary School crossing zone. Consider the safety of the children as well, and restripe the crosswalks in the vicinity. Thank you.
