The apron and sidewalk at Raynham Rd. and the private lane has disintegrated. We reached out to our alderperson both last Autumn and again this Spring to address the situation as it is a city responsibility. The neighbors pitched in to have the lane repaved, but the concrete sidewalk and apron still need to be addressed. Currently the sidewalks on Kneeland Rd. are being redone. Could this not be addressed now as well? Thanks!

Fort Nathan Hale garbage cans are overflowing again. Fort is a mess as the wind blows it all around when it’s not emptied in a timely fashion. Citizens are using the cans, the city needs to empty them.

The trees in East Shore Park are in DESPERATE need of being cleaned of invasive and native species of vine which are growing well into the canopy of many of the trees. I would easily say that 95% of the trees inside the park along the areas of unmown lawn especially are affected. As well, two trees have been girdled by vandalism, with many more being girdled by invasives such as bittersweet. I understand the financial crisis of the city and the Park Departments decision to let the lawn go wild for the last two seasons prior to this one, but in doing this, invasives have come in and are scaffolding up most of the trees. This situation is approaching dire.

Circle of Life is operating out of DEP compliance. The debris and trash at their transfer station must be unloaded in the closed building before being moved to the railcars. The roof of the building is open, the doors are constantly open and the building debris, trash, etc is being off loaded outside the building and payloaded in. All of the particulates from this mixed construction debris is not contained as was the rule for the operation of this facility. The DEP needs to be made aware. This is easily seen from interstate 91 south. There is currently a huge pile of debris outside the building.

Positive sightings of pitbulls being trained to bite/fight on the URI Community Greenspace trees in Chatham Square Park has been made. This dog or these dogs are thought to live in the block of Chatham Street between Maltby and Lombard Streets, but this has not been positively confirmed. The stripped bark means certain tree death. Stop the arborcide! The Friends of Chatham Square Park are meeting at 8:30 AM on Saturday July 24th to replace one of the trees and install guards for the remaining trees.
