Snow and Ice Control Archived339 E Columbia St New Westminster, BC V3L 3W7, Canada - New WestminsterI just missed my bloody bus because I couldn't walk safely on this ice rink! It's negative temperatures outside and I'm now stuck here for 30mins. Could you please maintain the city's sidewalks so those of us not fortunate enough to own a pair of ice skates can get around without risking a brain injury?! This is utterly ridiculous!

Loose Cement (tree surround) Archived301 E Columbia St New Westminster, BC V3L 3W7, Canada - New Westminster
The cement surrounding this tree is loose, with a considerable sudden drop when stepped on.
The affected tree surround is the sidewalk on E Columbia Street next to the Impark parking lot, just left of the parking station when viewed from the input screen.

One is capped in the bush area, another uncapped syringe is next to the "tall" grass.

Construction Blocking Access Archived342 Hospital Street New Westminster, British Columbia - New Westminster
Every day that construction is being done on the house being built at 342 Hospital Street the section of road from 338 up to 352 Hospital Street suffers the following issues:
1. Blocking driveways in some cases for over half of the day. Houses are having to demand the vehicles move so that they can enter and exit their driveway, and despite requests to stop parking in front of driveways the construction crew just keeps allowing it to happen. One of my neighbours has gone out twice today alone to demand they stop blocking the driveway at 352 Hospital Street.
2. Illegal parking is occurring all over the street. Vehicles parked the wrong way, vehicles taking over loading zones, trucks parking on Buchanan with their front ends stuck out into Hospital Street.
3. Blocking access to the sidewalk. Today, dirt and other items (port-a-potty, for example) have closed off any access to the sidewalk or boulevard in front of the sidewalk. Due to the number of trucks taking over the street at once, at times there is no visibility for vehicles coming up and down the street of those persons that are having to cross Hospital Street in order to continue their trip up or down the hill, and there isn't always a flagger there directing traffic in order to ensure pedestrian and driver safety.
4. It is becoming ridiculously difficult for vehicles to move up and down the street at various points during the day. The buses are just barely squeezing past the trucks on some of their runs.
I understand that some headaches will exist when a house is being constructed, but this has reached the point of insanity. You cannot safely traverse our street on days that construction is happening, whether you're a vehicle, cyclist or pedestrian.
I'd really appreciate if the city could spend some extra time on Hospital Street dealing with this issue, not just on one day but ensuring that it doesn't keep happening when the city isn't there to see it.
