Someone has moved in or dumped a bunch of clothes under the kids climbing structure at Alberico park. Could you please help cleaning out the area? Thank you.

All surrounding the Courtyard Marriott and their parking area is unshoveled and icy. This includes Florence Street, all along Pleasant Street, and in the front along Memorial Drive. It’s been this way since the last snowfall. Many pedestrians use this corridor coming from Trader Joe’s, and going to the traffic signal at the end of Pleasant Street.

Can you repair the gate at the community garden? It just hangs open and has no locking mechanism. The gardeners have taken to having a cable lock on the gate in desperation.

    Thank you!

Please cut bushes by the community garden in Riverside Park down to the fence line. It helps with feeling safe while gardening and keeping an eye on kids playing on the hill outside the garden.

I don’t know what to do. For weeks I find used toilet paper, liquor and beer bottles, used toiletry products in the community garden and down behind the Shell station at Riverside Park. The Multiservice Center number is a recording saying they’re closed. The person at the Dept of Health number says to call the Multiservice Center. In the meantime gardeners are being chased out of the garden by panhandlers or people trying to bathe themselves. We have called the Parks department, DPW, and the head of community gardens, but get no response. It seems outside what they can or want to do. The homeless’ lack of water and bathroom facilities needs to be addressed. People with substance or alcohol abuse problems can’t go to shelters so they are creating unsanitary conditions and making parks unusable. At a time we need parks to safely social distance, and gardens to grow food. It sounds like a city-wide issue but especially along the River - where do I turn?

Tree has deep crack on one side, lots of missing bark on the other, and some branches did not leaf out this year. Pls send someone to evaluate its health and if it may be a hazard. Thank you.

Sprinklers in the kids area are always on and don’t shut off. Seems like an incredible waste of water and sounds like it’s damaging other parts of the park like the tennis courts.

It was not like this last year; I went there and the sprinklers were on a timer.

City trash and recycle truck complaint: I just watched from my window as a recycle truck backed quickly into the intersection down Pleasant, nearly t-boning a car that had stopped properly on Allston but could not see a truck barreling down backwards. This is how a cyclist was killed on Putnam last year (not by a city truck, to be clear, but a large vehicle unexpectedly backing up rapidly). I see these city trash and recycle trucks fly down Pleasant weekly, where children are learning to ride their bikes and walking to school. Instruct your drivers/contractors in how to safely share these streets, or get these large deadly vehicles off residential streets. It’s terrifying.

Could you look at signal timing for this walk sign and lengthen it? Difficult to cross the entire stretch without getting stranded at the median while walking at a normal pace. Makes lots of pedestrians dart among cars who have the green arrow to merge into Mass Ave heading toward Porter. With children or moving more slowly can’t make it across in one movement. Thank you

Every morning and afternoon I cross River Street with my 4 year old daughter to her school on Upton Street. Every day a car or truck is speeding up River Street and fails to yield in the crosswalk at Kinniard and River. Or they whip around the corner onto Pleasant Street, nearly hitting us in the crosswalk. With 2 pedestrian deaths in Cambridgeport this month alone, this is a real issue and I don’t want my family to be another statistic.

There are crossing guards on Magazine and Pleasant, but River Street is like a highway with crosswalks. There are already 25mph signs, which are ignored. Especially so close to a school zone, can there be a crossing guard, an actual speed monitor installed, or ideally an officer that tracks speeds and does enforcement (writes tickets)? We would like to walk but it almost seems as if driving or having our daughter bussed 7 blocks is the safer option.

Thank you for your time and working to keep our residents and families safe.
