The curb and crosswalk at the corner of Brampton Parkway and in front of the home at 4865 Red Hill Way has years of leaf debris in the drainage curb. This mess spills out 2-3 feet into the road way. Additionally the trees on this corner block the safety of a view from Red Hill Way to Brampton Parkway. The curb/gutters need to be clean and the trees pruned back. Thanks

I am submitting photos taken a day following rain of a safey issue at the corner of Red Hill Way and Brampton Parkway in Ellicott City.
Following the installation of the traffic calming circle and relocation of the aprons for the cross walk this issue occurred.
The northeast side of the Brampton Parkway sidewalk apron to the street was relocated farther from the intersection.
As a result with the down hill flow of water when it rains it causes water to pool where the walkway curves from Brampton Parkway to Red Hill Way.
Over the years with the pooling of water dirt has built up which becomes mud for days following rain.
This even when appears to have dried because a huge hazard because only the top has crusted over and becomes slick as ice when stepped on.
In the short term I would assume your staff could use a flat shovel mot remove the dirt and maybe create a trench for the stare to drain.
However I believe this would only be a bandaid on the problem.
So sort of drainage to correct this is really necessary.
Please see the attached photos to see how this looks days following rain.
I appreciate this being added to the service schedule and I understand the county feels this is the responsibility of the home owner whose home this backs up to. I suggest it is the community issue of Brampton Hills as the home there is not a part of that community. It is time someone address this ongoing issues!
  • 4755 Montgomery Rd Ellicott City, MD, 21043, USA - Ellicott City
The sidewalk between Red Hill Way and Brampton Parkway on Montgomery Road RT103 is not passable as the trees and vines have encroached almost to the road. If you are under 4 foot tall it may be possible to pass. This needs an extreme cutback. This has been trimmed back in past years mildly and it last less than one season before you can not pass without walking in the road. This is a safety hazard. Please see that this is cutback aggressively. Thanks
