Over the past several months, I have observed a significant increase in the density of vegetation in this area, which has resulted in obstructed pathways, reduced visibility, and an overall unkempt appearance of the park. The overgrowth has not only detracted from the aesthetic appeal of the park but has also raised safety concerns for residents and visitors alike.
The accumulation of fallen branches and debris has created potential hazards for pedestrians and cyclists navigating through the park, while the dense vegetation provides cover for wildlife and poses a fire risk during dry seasons. Additionally, the overgrowth obstructs views of the surrounding landscape and limits recreational activities for park users.
As a concerned resident of the community, I urge the appropriate authorities to take action to address the overgrowth of vegetation in Cherry Creek Manor Park. I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding the ongoing issue of speeding vehicles on Brookcrest Way in Citrus Heights. Over the past year since I purchased my home in this neighborhood, I have witnessed numerous incidents of reckless driving that have resulted in harm to animals and damage to property.
The excessive speeding on Brookcrest Way has not only endangered the lives of residents and pets but has also led to tragic outcomes, including the death of turkeys, cats, and dogs that have been struck by vehicles. These incidents have not only been distressing to witness but have also created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among residents.
Furthermore, I recently experienced firsthand the consequences of speeding in our neighborhood when my garbage, recycling, and green waste containers were struck by a passing vehicle, resulting in significant damage. This incident highlights the urgent need for measures to address speeding and improve safety on Brookcrest Way.
I urge the City of Citrus Heights to take immediate action to address this pressing issue. Measures such as increased enforcement of speed limits, installation of speed bumps or traffic calming devices, and enhanced signage to alert drivers to the presence of pedestrians and animals are necessary to mitigate the risks posed by speeding vehicles.
