Over the last 8 - 10 months there has been a verified increase in the crime rate including violent crimes in a 2 - 3 mile radius around the neighborhoods of Green Run and The Lakes from the cross roads of Lynnhaven Pkwy and Holland Rd. As opposed to the rest of Virginia Beach where the crime rate has supposedly fallen this area has seen a %30 increase in crime rates specifically around the Lynnhaven mall area and with 6 murders between Princess Ann and Lynnhaven mall north and south of Lynnhaven Pkwy over the last two months this is a concern for everyone living within this area due to the high amount of school age children that could easily become victims of these crimes.
