    Yesterday I saw two fires in the park associated with the homeless encampment. One in the middle of the grass, which may have been for cooking. More worrisome, a large open flame in an open tent BENEATH AN OLD, DRY TREE. This area MUST be monitored for safety. These trees and this encampment could go up in a matter of minutes.

    There was a fire in the encampment over the weekend and the charred debris is still there in a pile on the cement by the little brick wall.

    Yesterday I also saw two residents defecating on the ground by the little amphitheater.

    Oakland must do something about the health and safety risks of this encampment.

    Someone left a basket of trash, then someone set it on fire. OFD put out the fire and this is what’s left. Just under the freeway next to Mosswood Building.
