    MCBRIDE AND 8TH AVE

I've been using the intersection on foot since October. On the corner with JIBC, EVERY TIME a transport truck turns left from McBride to 8th they drive at least 1 line of tires over the curb, usually it is more tires ...their back set of 2 tires going over. I've told the city a few times.

The intersection I'm referring to is 2 blocks away from where a student was killed on their bicycle by a transport truck in 2010.

Please don't tell me to contact someone else. FIX THE TURN.

There is approximately 40 students that use that EXACT corner EVERY SINGLE DAY.

I really advise the city to do something before another child is killed under a truck.

Dozens of people cross on yhe corner coming down McBride towards 8th. It's ridiculously dangerous, especially with marked crosswalk 100m away

I'm not sure what can be done there, maybe something that can divide the lines attached to the median.

Multiple times a day cars, trucks do U-turns in the intersection of McBride & 8th. You can see in the picture that the median is actually broken apart because of U-turns.

Twice a day many students cross this intersection. There should at least be a sign, but extending the median a bit further mau help.

sidewalk that was "fixed" last week is falling apart and creating a tripping hazard when going from sidewalk to crosswalk. This intersection gets numerous kids twice a day for school.

massive puddle on 8th Ave going north...

Turning right from 8th Ave to McBride at the Chevron corner. The yellow line in the photos indicates where the inside of the tires rolled over when a transport truck cut the corner today.

I cannot understand why the city doesn't put the white permanent tall pylons (see photo) going around the corner , 3 or 4 of them hugging the corner...just to deter idiots that are going to cut the corner.

This intersection is used by many people including lots of middle & highschool students. There is a crossing guard 2 hours a day, but he cannot stop a trick unfortunately.

I would really appreciate a response to this, haroldlewis555@gmail.com

Where I've placed that red arrow turning, there are at minimum a dozen cars a day that do a U-turn there. As you can see with the white car closest to us, that it's a very dangerous situation, and multiple times a day there are near misses. (both cars slamming on brakes, while on top of a crosswalk)

**Also these sidewalks are used every day by dozens of school children**

This corner ia very dangerous already, everyday big
trucks drive over the curb in front of the Chevron
    when making a right turn.

    These plants NEED to be
trimmed/cut back to give more space to back away from
    traffic.

This is an intersection used by many school aged children.

EVEN BETTER would be to place those white permanent
pilon things to prevent (discourage) vehicles from
    cutting the corner doing 80+km/hr

I'm a parent at Lord Tweedsmuir and I take this crosswalk every day with my kids. Luckily we have a crossing guard there for 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon.

I really believe the crosswalk lines need to be repainted and in front of the fire hydrant you can see it should be painted red on the curb so that people will stop parking there.

when people park in front of that fire hydrant it's really close to the corner as well and there have been two near misses this week with children almost getting hit when a vehicle turns and they have nowhere to go.

Us group of parents also believe that there should be a speed bump on both sides of that crosswalk, obviously not right in front of the crosswalk but a little distance away from it so that people will slow down to the actual speed limit. this past week alone vehicles have been clocked at 70km 60km and almost nobody does below 30km.

We I'll truly believe that these things should be done or there will be an accident sometime soon.

I've been a crossing guard at FRMS for a bit now. Coming down the hill, the school One sign is just at the intersection, it needs to be further up 8th.

Approximately 5% of the people go below 30km/hr...I've counted a few times.

there is a new 4 way stop here that should have amber flashing lights or a notification saying "new traffic pattern ahead". NOBODY is stopping at it
