    Rats have been seen hanging out on the patio between 8 Appleton Rd and 128 Appleton St. the problem may stem from neighboring property on Huron Ave. The neighbors asked me to request the city investigate.

    Unhealthy Norway maple with a rotten base needs to be evaluated and likely removed ASAP. Large limbs have fallen in recent years. the upper part has dead branches overhanging the street, but I just noticed the base is completely rotted out on one side. there is an adjacent tree with mushrooms and a bit of a squishy base as well.

    The buttons say "push for audible signal", which usually means the walk signal is automatic. But these need to be pushed, so "push to cross" would be the more consistent choice.

    The water fountain and the water bottle fill do not turn off fully and are wasting water. the drinking portion also sprays water well out into the sidewalk.

    the pole pictured on the right (corner of Concord and craigie) is not secure. It wobbles when the walk button is pressed. I've never seen a pole like this wobble, it was almost alarming.

    the see saw at the cambridge common playground is buried too deep in wood chips. the ends are supposed to contact rubber bumpers, but they are covered in a foot of wood chips. my child's leg got smashed/pinned under the bar, thankfully not resulting in a big injury, but I think the safety of the design is compromised. I dug out a bit with my foot, but a shovel is needed.
