This is how ADT installs their plug. It's in a floating box, and violates the NEC according to my electrician friend. They don't secure their boxes before installing a heavy screw in plug from wires in the wall. I called ADT and they said this is how they "always do it", and they've never heard of this happening before. Our drywall is damaged, and we aren't electricians. They said they could put it into another plug, but I feel like unless they secure the box, it would just happen again.
