construction bringing traffic from 3 Lanes to one without any advanced signage about merge. this is causing chaos for 2 blocks and is potential risk for collisions

construction has lane closure with insufficient advance signage and not enough distance to merge.

no crosswalks painted at an uncontrolled intersection. cars speed through here and makes it difficult to safely cross. there are several similar intersections in the area and all would benefit from crosswalks

there are curb cuts here crossing 8th Street, but cars turning do not stop for pedestrians creating an unsafe situation. a painted crosswalk would greatly improve pedestrian safety

not sufficient time to cross the street. the signal on the east crosswalk only gives 24 seconds to cross over 100 feet including 6 lanes of car traffic, a parking lane and a bike lane. given the number of college students crossing here and lack of visibility of westbound traffic either more time is needed, bulb-outs or both. this is further exacerbated bc cars turn left or make uturns on the red from westbound 7th - during peak hours a protected left turn phase here would not only prevent collisions but would greatly improve pedestrian safety

no walk button to push on median - this is a long crossing and the light does not change unless the walk button is pressed, but if you only cross half way and get sick in the median there is no button. this is especially dangerous during peak hours when traffic on 7th is bad and students leaving Laney get stuck running across the street
