Light & Sign conqueror

  • 1700 Caulfield Lane Petaluma California - Petaluma

    Pole no. 1740-175

This LED went out unexpectedly. Recent rainstorms must have affected the circuitry. It is between two residences on 1700 and 1644 Caulfield Ln, and rises over a school crossing. So a lack of illumination here could put kids crossing the arterial street in certain danger. It's so bad that a nearby homeowner has turned on his or her decorative lights just to keep the area illuminated.

  • 2201–2225 E Washington St Petaluma 94954, United States - Petaluma

    Pole no. 2314

Found another street light that has stopped shining at night. It’s on the corner of E. Washington St and Catenacci Ct. Recent rains must have shorted out the wires. The pole itself is unmarked, so I guessed the number from neighboring light poles.

  • 4999 Petaluma Boulevard North Petaluma, California - Petaluma
I've noticed that a number of street lights have gone out. They are of vintage style, are LED, and all located along the segment of Petaluma Blvd N between the intersection of Stony Point Rd and the freeway interchange. Can these be fixed?
  • Copeland St. Petaluma California - Petaluma

    Pole nos. 338C190 and 5311

Two street lights along this block have stopped shining. Each are mounted on wooden power poles. Birds must have snipped the service wire feeding each light. The vintage lights at the transit center aren't bright enough to illuminate the street.

  • 101 Rancho Bonito Cir Petaluma 94954 United States - Petaluma

    Pole no. K242

Found an LED street light that’s still illuminated in broad daylight. Its photocell is probably dirty, or has failed. The light pole is on the corner of Sartori Dr and Rancho Bonito Cir, on the north leg of the circuitous street. The numerals are barely legible and missing the letter "K". They're also covered in a cryptic graffito writing.

  • 212 2nd Street Petaluma, California - Petaluma

    Pole no. 1337

I didn't notice this because it was hidden within the trees. The LED has failed to activate at night. It's attached directly to the power pole.

  • Redwood Highway Petaluma, California - Petaluma

    Pole no. unknown

The metal-halide light that illuminates the west ascent to the freeway footbridge just burnt out. It's behind the PetSmart store, which means it is under the jurisdiction of the East Washington Place. That spot is excruciatingly dark at night--despite the pedestrian signals on the crosswalk, I don't know if motorists could see anyone. The retail center developer should re-lamp this soon.

  • 335 South Mcdowell Boulevard Petaluma, California - Petaluma

    Pole no. 2121-250

It seems this LED unit has aged quickly, because it just went dark. The pole stands on the corner of the entrance to the Washington Square. I'll also point out that the second digit for the number has scratched off.

  • 115 4th Street Petaluma California - Petaluma

    Pole no. unknown

This dual street light sits on a fence line: one arm stretches over the Summit State Bank, the other above the parking lot for the Fourth and Sea | Fish & Chips restaurant. If this lamppost is owned by the city, is it possible to install LEDs here?

  • Flanigan Way Petaluma California - Petaluma

    Pole no. K717

I don't know how this one eluded me, but I've found another lightpole with a non-functioning LED. The report places it on Flanigan Way, but the pole is on the front yard of 309 Arcadia Dr, and over a sharp bend in the street. The pole number is barely legible.

  • Fairgrounds Drive Petaluma, California - Petaluma

    Pole no. unknown

This four-winged light pole received new LED luminaires not long ago. However, the light on the southwest wing of the mast doesn't turn on at night (in the photograph, it's actually the fixture closest to the camera). It might not have been wired properly.

  • 2001-2025 Marina Avenue Petaluma California - Petaluma

    Pole no. 3542

Unless anyone has noticed, this street light still has an old high pressure sodium vapor luminaire. Since the light is situated on a state road (CA-116), Caltrans will need to replace it soon.

  • 325 Liberty Street Petaluma California - Petaluma

    Pole no. 1222

I had to conquer the hillside neighborhood on bicycle just to document this missed street light--it still hasn't been replaced with LED. Keep in mind the number is for the PG&E utility pole, which appears to be freshly installed since it's still coated in a wet preservative. It's positioned by the driveway for the residence on 311 Liberty St. Get rid of this sodium vapor light fixture already!

  • 1255-1259 Kresky Way Petaluma California - Petaluma

    Pole no. C1

I regret to report that the new LED had suddenly quit. I don't think the ID tag is complete, but the pole is stationed at the corner of Kresky Way and Stuart Dr. It was drizzling at the time of this report, so the moisture must have breached the electrical compartment of the luminaire.

  • 901-961 Baywood Drive Petaluma, California - Petaluma

    Pole no. 1812

This unit is tilted about 5° southward and has an exposed foundation. It's also connected by a service wire from nearby overhead power lines. The lamppost might be replaced soon, giving the construction activity behind it, but just in case, don't forget to reinstall an LED here.

  • 27-29 Graylawn Avenue Petaluma California - Petaluma

    Pole no. unknown

This one still has a sodium vapor ballast--not sure if it works. It is attached to a power pole right over the driveway to the residence of 25 Graylawn Ave, and the junction to Bernice Ct. Replace it with LED now!

  • 145 Baywood Drive Petaluma California - Petaluma

    Pole no. unknown

Of the many times I passed this street light, I never realized that it wouldn't turn on, till just this night. Even installing the new LED didn't solve the problem. There aren't any numbers; the pole is in view of 145 Baywood Dr. of the Baywood Arms apartment complex.

  • 101-111 Western Avenue Petaluma California - Petaluma

    Pole nos. unknown

Two street lights on this section of Western Ave. aren't activating at night. One is LED; the other is high-pressure sodium vapor (apparently contractors forgot to replace this one). Faulty wiring must be affecting them both simultaneously. The two lampposts are unnumbered, but they are within the same block.

  • 212 Western Avenue Petaluma, California - Petaluma

    Pole no. unknown

This semi-ornate lamppost recently received a new LED luminaire; unfortunately, it isn't turning on at night. There must be a wiring issue. The lamppost is in front of a Japanese cuisine, "Izakaya Kitaru," on the 200th block of Western Ave. If it's any more helpful: it holds a sign that heralds the 2-hour parking limit.

  • 188-198 Liberty Street Petaluma California - Petaluma

    Pole no. 1365

Standing on this tight corner is another LED that has lost its shimmer. The luminaire itself had been in service since about 2014, so its age must have caught up to it.
