  • 226 Archer St New Westminster, British Columbia, V3L 4C9, CAN - New Westminster
The drain between 226 Archer and 230 Archer has become plugged up (likely from leaves from boulevard trees) and now backs up and causes large, deep puddles when it rains.

Pot holes have redeveloped in the same area that work crews have already fixed at least once in the last couple of years. The house that was being built by this location is nearly complete so hopefully we won't have oversized vehicles frequenting the area like we have over the last little while.

New traffic pattern/signs in the area. Could the old (now outdated) large school zone sign be removed and possibly replaced with a "New Traffic Pattern Sign"? People aren't quite understanding that Richmond St to Sherbrooke (and Sherbrooke to East Columbia) are now 30km/hr 24 hours a day and that this is not just a school zone area. Since the change I've had people try to pass me every day I've travelled in this area and I'm concerned that this is inevitably going to cause an accident.

Again with the new snow fall drains are plugged and water pooling in the intersection. This has been an ongoing issue since the first snow fall in December. It's awesome that the streets have been plowed, but that just compounds the issue because none of the residents seem to have taken upon themselves to clean out the drains after the plows have passed by.

Ongoing issues before and after school every school day (Monday to Friday 0830-0900 and 1430-1530 hrs) parents blocking alley access and driveways. Also parking in permit parking only and frequently "dump" vehicles on the incorrect side of the street making it difficult for residents to get in/out of their driveways.

During the rain last night puddles were forming at the speed bumps (both of them) that went across both lanes. Even going under 30km/h the water was splashing onto the sidewalks. It's great that the plow was able to clear the street but now the build up of snow over the drains is causing major issues all the way from Alberta Street to Cumberland Street on East 6th Avenue. If it freezes then the entire street will become too unsafe to use.
  • 230 Devoy St New Westminster, British Columbia - New Westminster
Homeowners have done nothing to clean their walk on either side of the property or the streets where the drains are located.

Black ice is forming at the stop sign, particularly the one in front of 101 E 6th Ave. People are running the stop sign once they feel their vehicles start to slide.

Since the rain we have had and since we had virtually no snow removal on the street, our street is now an ice rink. I fell walking out to my truck this morning and we have a number of elderly people who reside on this street, so I would hate to see any of them take the same fall that I did.
  • Devoy St / Alberta St New Westminster, British Columbia - New Westminster
Right at the corner closest to 441 Alberta St., water pools due to blocked drain making it very difficult to traverse through the area. Due to the amount of snow accumulated on our streets there are limited routes for most of us to take in and out of our neighbourhoods, even on foot, and this makes it virtually impossible to get through there at times. Also, once school starts in the next few days this is a primary route for most parents to use to McBride Elementary School and they will not be able to safely cross the street with the amount of pooling water.
