We want comment on this project which is in the design phase. The project is the rehab of Alabama from Wesleyan to Buffalo Speedway and continues to Midtown. We understand this project will include some type of bicycle accommodation. We would like to offer feedback by requesting the safest multimodal option, which is separate lanes/separate path from roadway traffic. On-street lanes are unsafe for everyone, only 'bicycle warriors' use these lanes. On-street lanes are a wasted effort and do not support the general public and do not encourage increased ridership. Many of our family and friends would like to ride bikes to work, shopping or other purposes but cannot do so with on-street lanes. Separate lanes would be a good and long term public investment. Regarding a potential loss off trees, these can be replanted along the project. Regarding the issue of crossing numerous driveways, this will occur anyway with any type of system. Regarding driveways, the separate lane system will be a significant pathway which is a design element easily recognizable to drivers. Thanks for the opportunity to comment on this significant project. Rohini and Ethan Beeson 570 Bomar St, Houston, Tx77006
