Long standing problem

On backside of building, visible from Central Ave 1180 block.

Central Avenue from Norman Berry to Sylvan Road has been closed since JUNE.

When will this be re-opened?

Power pole removed, but lying on ground. Base of previous power pole is still in the ground but has a large hole dug out around it. People are using the pole on the ground to climb up onto the wall at the Marta bus stop, near the Hyatt. People are using the hole in the ground as a trash can.

Railing installed by city on retaining wall is broken.

Is there any update on when repairs will be completed to Central Avenue after the water main break? The road and bridge have been closed for many weeks now, although it appears the Water Dept has long been finished with any work.

Concrete covers over storm drains are severely cracked. One has also been pushed back, so it would be very easy for an adult to slip and fall into.

The newer drain is directly across from Comcast building at 3205 S. Martin Street. The other damaged drain is also on S. Martin St, right next to the new one.

Also attached are photos of the debris from the last time the storm drain was repaired. Crew threw the concrete top, up onto our property, just off the right of way. Please have this removed as well.

Broken water main on Central Avenue flooded private parking lot. Dirt and debris from excessive water flow covers a good portion of the lot. Can City get this cleaned up, since it was caused by broken water main across the street?

The overpass of Central Avenue over Norman Berry Drive was closed a few weeks ago when the gas company broke the water main. Since the water main has been repaired, the gas company has left the street closed. A local worker with the gas company told one of my employees, nearby, that they didn't have the authority to close the road, they were just taking advantage that no one had made them open it back up. My understanding is this gas line work was supposed to be completed no later than May. We've had several days of good weather, and no one is on site working, and Central Avenue is still blocked all the way to Sylvan Road.

When will this road be open for regular usage again? Can they close the bridge and not leave anyone to keep watch over it?

The break in the water main is just NW of the bridge before 1188 Central Ave. No work is being done on the Eastern side of the bridge. However, Central Ave is blocked all the way up to Sylvan/Colville Rd.

I understand the need to keep the area clear of through traffic, but there is a very busy business just past the work on the bridge, and they are not being allowed to enter and exit the parking lot to their building. Is there someway to allow local, non-through traffic to the areas not affected, so that they may operate their businesses?

Guard rail at SE corner of the intersection of Norman Berry Dr and Willingham Dr appears to have been hit by a vehicle. It is now bent outwards, towards the street and traffic, which must maneuver around it. It had been previously crushed by an unknown accident and remained damaged.

I will attach additional photos in the comments. Paving crew is dropping loose gravel and a ton of litter on the side of the street. We have been picking it up DAILY. The photos show ONE day's worth of trash. We have also observed no less than four workers emerging from private property (walking up into the woods) to defecate. When approached about issues, they say to take it up with the City of East Point. We have also shoveled up all the gravel left behind when they vacated the street for several weeks, before returning.
