    Incredibly loud ultrasonic dog repellers facing the road, anyone who passes and is under 30 can hear it, it is deafeningly loud, more so to small children especially.

    Water is leaking from underground (right next to the meter) onto the sidewalk. The city once dug into this area, and since then, it has continually leaked. This is the second time this has been reported in the last month. The first time two city employees came and looked at it but did not resolve the issue. No earth was moved. In response to this, I have tried to remove every bit of debris that I could to show that the sidewalk remains wet constantly, even in the absence of anything moist acting as a wick, and to demonstrate that the hole next to the meter that was full of leaves and mud when the city employees came is actually filling with water when all of the debris is removed. Please take a closer look underground and remedy whatever is leaking. If it is not a water line, please pass this on to the sewer department or other relevant department. Please do not simply close this until it is either resolved or is in the hands of the department that will resolve it. This is a liability issue for the city as well as all neighbors. We have done our due diligence and are again asking politely for this to be permanently resolved.

    It is wonderful that Carbondale is a place where people express their constitutional right to protest. What is difficult is when the protesters are blocking the sidewalks and are in the street where the bike paths are and are at the very edge of the driving lane. Protesters should not be blocking sidewalks or be standing on the street being a danger to traffic and to themselves. This is the second time this has happened.

    This stretch of the sidewalk has not been dry in, quite literally, years. It becomes a mini ice rink in the winter, and it’s a breeding ground for insects and health hazard other times of the year. City employees came out to look at it a year or two ago and even dug into the ground around it, but nothing changed. Attention is needed ASAP to permanently rectify this.
