    Signal is out.

Without delineators/protection, this bike lane makes the road more dangerous for people on bikes than if it didn't exist at all. You can see in the picture how the woman biking in front of me is now squeezed between the truck and passing cars, and there is almost always a vehicle in the bike lane because of the dorms and the post office. It would be an inconvenience for a car to have to pass a vehicle parked in the car lane, but to someone on a bike it's terrifying to get squeezed because a vehicle is parked in the bike lane.

Two of the four bollards are gone and the other two have been knocked loose (they roll away if pushed). I think the spheres are a cool look, but cubes might stick around a little longer.

The pedestrian lights on the north side of the intersection turn white when they're supposed to, but then turn to red hands 30 seconds before the green light turns yellow.
  • 1070 Chapel St New Haven, CT 06510, USA - Town_Green
There needs to be a "turning cars yield to pedestrians" sign wherever concurrent pedestrian phasing is implemented. I just watched three cars honk at and nearly hit crossing pedestrians because CPP is a novelty in New Haven, and every intersection works differently.

The traffic signal at Orange and crown never gives southbound orange a green light. It just stays red and let's the other legs of the intersection go.
  • S Frontage & College St New Haven, CT 06510, USA - Yale University Campus
The pedestrian signal at the SE corner of Orange and S Frontage was obliterated. Adding bollards to protect pedestrians waiting there (and the signal post) would also be good.
  • 90 S Orange St New Haven, CT 06519, USA - Hill
Problem #1: The 2 Southernmost bike signals pointing South don't do anything. As shown in the pics, they just stay red when the other lights turn yellow and green.
Problem #2: Orange St going North has a green right arrow signal during the same phase as the bike green light. This is telling cars to turn into the bikes. At minimum there should be a sign saying 'Turning cars yield to bikes'.
  • Grove St & Orange St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Town_Green
The pedestrian signals don't blink red hands, they are just solid red hands. Therefore the pedestrians don't cross when the cars are stopped, because they think the cars will be going any second.

It would be great to have a bike rack at the post office!
  • 123 Elm St New Haven, CT, 06510, USA - Downtown
A bike rack near the parking lot of Conte West school would be great in general, but especially for the farmers market. Right now folks just lock up to the trees and fence.
  • Elm St & Orange St New Haven, CT, 06510, USA - Town_Green
There is no way for pedestrians to cross 3 out of 4 legs of this intersection (the exception being the west crossing when Elm is stopped). Adding pedestrian heads is what should be done, but the cheaper solution would be to eliminate 2 of the 3 traffic lanes on Elm (replace with 2 way painted bike lanes) and designalize the intersection. No ped heads needed, just 4 stop signs.

The northeastern light in the Humphrey street underpass is blinking rapidly (again). I think it might be time to hire a new electrician, unless it is for Halloween, in which case the electricity should get a raise.

It looks like hydrant in front of Dunkin Donuts might have been stolen? Or hopefully just removed for good reason
  • 155 Elm St New Haven, CT, 06510, USA - Downtown
This street in Downtown New Haven has more lanes than most highways. Cars therefore drive like a highway. The 2 outer lanes should be blocked off and made into pedestrian walkways. That just requires a few glue-down bollards. Even better would be tuning the 2 remaining lanes into a 2-way street.

27 Mill River St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Mill River
There's a line down and in the water by the Humphrey st bridge over the Mill River. Multiple poles are down and the line is fully submerged. The line is visible in Google maps satellite view. It would be great if you could at least get rid of the line if not fix it, because it's pretty scary to go under power lines.
