The north side of the 1600 block of Irving NW has trash and recycling at the front of the homes. Currently, 1633 is a rental. These tenants have a history of bring their trash bags down to street level and not using the trash or recycling bins on trash collection days. They would just place the trash bags at the street which would invite cats and rats who would tear open the bags and then trash would be left on the sidewalk area. I wrote a letter to the residents explaining the importance of using the trash bins given our proximity to Mt. Pleasant and the past issues we've had with rats on the block and after 2 requests while they have quite putting their trash bags down on the street, the trash is accumulating up at their residence level which is equally unsanitary. Additionally, recycling was placed at street level not in the recycling bin which is now scatter in front of the house. Unfortunately these residents just don't seem to appreciate how this negatively impacts their neighbors. I don't know how to contact the owners as the property tax address is still the Irving street address. Could you please assist in helping us enforce the city's trash rules.
