When road was re-paved in 2014 asphalt was laid overtop existing roadway, filling in cement curb stormwater gutters and the height of the roadway was raised 4-5 inches nearly level with negative grade driveway. When it rains, roadway stormwater was overtopping curb and running down property owners' drive and steps, not allowing all water to drain to adjacent stormwater drain. HWYS East Mayfield branch was great to work with and came out earlier this summer to mill out some of the asphalt. This work has addressed the issue to some degree but the heavy rain on 8/24 again overtopped as stormwater cannot fan out on the roadway. Another look is needed to identify a long-term solution that addresses both the stormwater issue and driveway access.
